The U.S. Army is planning to deploy forces to the Aleutian Islands of Alaska as part of its efforts to project power in the Indo-Pacific region. The deployment will include around 3,000 soldiers and will be the largest rotation of troops to the area since the end of the Cold War. The soldiers will train and conduct exercises with their Alaskan counterparts and will also engage in community outreach activities.
