Republican Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska has announced his opposition to President Trump’s attempt to change the way Nebraska allocates its Electoral College votes. Trump’s plan would award the state’s electoral votes to the candidate who wins the popular vote in each congressional district, rather than the statewide winner taking all. Sasse, however, argues that such a change would undermine the integrity of the electoral system and create confusion.
