Snap: Food Stamps to Increase in October Due to COLA

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that the maximum amount of food stamps, or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, will increase starting October due to the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). The average increase is 1.6 percent, with some states seeing a larger increase. The USDA also announced that the minimum monthly benefit will remain at $16 per month for households with no other countable income.
