Russian state media outlets have used artificial intelligence (AI) generated images of Florida’s Disney World flooded to spread false information about Hurricane Milton. The AI-generated images were shared on social media platforms, including Telegram and VKontakte, and were labeled as real footage of the aftermath of the hurricane. However, Disney World was not affected by Hurricane Milton, which made landfall in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula on October 25, 2021.
