British Conker Champion Disqualified for Cheating

The British Conker Championships, an annual event held in the village of Ashton-under-Hill, has disqualified its winner for cheating. The champion, 13-year-old Jack Elton, was found to have used a conker that did not conform to the rules, as it was too light. The competition rules state that conkers must be at least 13mm in diameter and 35g in weight. Elton’s conker was measured at 11mm and 28g. The event organizer, Steve Brown, said, “It’s a shame as Jack was a favorite to win, but we have to uphold the rules.”
