American Consumers’ Confidence Dips as Job Concerns Surge

U.S. consumer confidence dropped more than expected in October as worries about the labor market grew, according to a report released Tuesday. The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index fell to 100.1 from a revised 101.8 in September. Economists had forecast a decline to 100.5.
