The Houston Astros lost to the Oakland Athletics 3-2 in an 11-inning marathon on Tuesday night. Michael Brantley hit a go-ahead single in the top of the 11th inning, and the A’s held on for the victory. Astros starter Framber Valdez pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run. The Astros had several opportunities to score but left 12 men on base. Myles Straw homered for the Astros, and Chas McCormick added an RBI single.
