Bannon Seeks to Delay Prison Sentence for Contempt of Congress

Steve Bannon, a former White House adviser to Donald Trump, filed an appeal on Monday to delay his prison sentence for contempt of Congress. Bannon was ordered to serve 30 days in prison and fined $6,500 for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. His legal team argued that the committee does not have the authority to issue criminal contempt citations.
