Boeing Co. plans to reduce its workforce by about 10% as a strike at its South Carolina plant drags on, according to people familiar with the matter. The company is preparing to issue layoff notices as soon as this week, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. The strike, which began Oct. 3, has idled about 7,000 workers at the North Charleston site, where Boeing builds its best-selling 787 Dreamliner.
