Boeing Co. and the Machinists union reached a tentative deal late Tuesday to end a crippling strike at the planemaker’s factories in the Seattle area, according to people familiar with the matter. The deal, which still needs to be ratified by union members, comes after a week of negotiations and mounting pressure from Boeing to return workers to the job.
