China’s military has confirmed it conducted a test of a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), state media reported on Saturday. The test comes as tensions rise between Beijing and Washington over Taiwan and other issues. The missile was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan province, according to state broadcaster CCTV. The test is the first confirmed ICBM launch by China since October 2020.
