Chinese Court Orders Alibaba to Pay $2.8 Billion in Intellectual Property Case

A Chinese court has ordered Alibaba Group to pay $2.8 billion in damages for intellectual property infringement. The case was brought by a Chinese company, Yintai Duty Free, which accused Alibaba’s Taobao Marketplace of selling counterfeit goods. Alibaba has been given 15 days to pay the damages.
