The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday that would give wildland firefighters a permanent pay increase. The bill, which has already been approved by the Senate, would raise the minimum pay for wildland firefighters to $15 an hour and provide them with parity with federal firefighters. The pay increase would take effect on October 1, 2022.
