Consumer Reports has tested several cinnamon powders and found that some contain high levels of lead. The organization tested 30 different samples and found that 13 of them contained lead levels above the federal limit. The affected brands include McCormick, Adamas, and S&B. Consumer Reports advises consumers to avoid using these products and to check their pantry for any potentially contaminated cinnamon.
