ConAgra Foods, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of certain lots of its Eggo brand frozen waffles due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled products were distributed to retailers and foodservice customers in the United States and Canada. Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled waffles and to check their freezers for the affected lots. Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
