In 1994, South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Steve Tannehill led his team to a historic upset against LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, known as ‘Death Valley’ for its notoriously rowdy crowd. Tannehill threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns, while the Gamecocks defense held LSU to just 10 points. The victory was South Carolina’s first in Death Valley since 1969 and helped propel the team to a 9-3 season.
