IMF Loans $2.9 Billion to Crisis-Hit Sri Lanka

The International Monetary Fund has approved a $2.9 billion loan for crisis-hit Sri Lanka to help stabilize its economy. The loan comes as the country faces a severe economic downturn, including high inflation and a shortage of foreign currency. The IMF loan is expected to be disbursed in tranches over the next few years, with the first installment of $500 million to be released soon.
