India trail New Zealand by 11 runs at stumps on Day 1 of the first Test in Greenpark, Kanpur. Openers Mayank Agarwal (30) and Shubman Gill (13) put on 46 runs for the first wicket before both were dismissed by Trent Boult. Cheteshwar Pujara (1) was the next to go, caught by Tom Latham off Kyle Jamieson. Ajinkya Rahane (12) and Virat Kohli (1) were unbeaten at the close of play. Tim Southee took three wickets for New Zealand. The hosts ended the day on 76 for three.
