The LabXperior Corporation and its owner, Dr. Chirag Patel, have agreed to pay $235,000 to settle allegations of Medicaid fraud and kickbacks in North Carolina. The settlement resolves claims that the company submitted false claims for urine drug tests and paid kickbacks to marketers and laboratories for patient referrals. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ Medicaid Investigations Division led the investigation.
