A man is charged with second-degree murder after a fatal crash in Raleigh on Monday night. The crash happened at the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Edenton Street around 10:30 p.m. According to police, the driver of a car ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 32-year-old Brittany Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Quincy McDowell, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. No other information was released.
