Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag dropped Marcus Rashford from the squad to accommodate Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup against Tottenham. Ten Hag explained that Rashford was not in the best physical condition and that Ronaldo’s experience and form were crucial for the team. New signing Alejandro Garnacho was also left out of the squad.
