Manchester United have sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager after a disappointing start to the season. The club are currently in 7th place in the Premier League table, 12 points behind leaders Chelsea. Solskjaer, who took over in December 2018, won the FA Cup and the Europa League during his tenure but failed to deliver the consistent results expected of him. The club have brought in Michael Carrick as caretaker manager while they search for a permanent replacement.
