Mark Robinson, a Republican and the first Black man to be elected governor of North Carolina, won the governor’s race on Tuesday, defeating Democrat Roy Cooper. Robinson, a former Greensboro city councilman, campaigned on a platform of lower taxes, school choice, and law and order.
