Carlos Mendoza will become the second Afro-Latino manager in Major League Baseball (MLB) history to lead a team in the playoffs. Mendoza, who is from the Dominican Republic, was named interim manager of the Cleveland Indians on September 24, 2022, replacing Terry Francona.
