Meta Platforms Inc (FB.O) said on Monday it had laid off about 11,000 employees, or around 13% of its workforce, in a cost-cutting move. The tech company, formerly known as Facebook, said in a statement that the layoffs were being carried out as part of a restructuring to focus on its highest priority growth areas. The cuts were made using emails from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other company executives, according to a report by The Verge.
