The Major League Soccer (MLS) playoff race is heating up with several teams vying for a spot in the postseason. As of September 14, 2024, here are the clinching scenarios for each team:
New England Revolution: With a win or a draw against New York City FC on September 15, the Revolution will clinch a playoff spot.
Los Angeles FC: LAFC can secure a playoff berth with a win against FC Dallas on September 16, or a draw if the New England Revolution don’t win or draw against NYCFC.
Sporting Kansas City: Sporting KC can clinch a playoff spot with a win against Real Salt Lake on September 16, or a draw if the New England Revolution lose against NYCFC and LAFC don’t win against FC Dallas.
Sporting KC and LAFC could also meet in the playoffs as both are in the Western Conference.
