MTA Unveils $51.5 Billion Capital Plan With Congestion Pricing

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York unveiled a $51.5 billion capital plan on Thursday, which includes a congestion pricing proposal to reduce traffic in Manhattan. The plan, which covers the next five years, includes investments in subways, buses, and commuter rail. The congestion pricing plan would charge drivers entering Manhattan below 60th Street during peak hours. The MTA aims to raise $15 billion through the pricing plan and reduce traffic by 15%. The plan still needs approval from the state legislature.
