The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has a new commissioner. Mayor Eric Adams announced on Tuesday that Tom Donlon, a 28-year veteran of the NYPD, will take over the role. Donlon most recently served as the chief of patrol. He will replace Dermot Shea, who stepped down in January.
