Producer Prices Post Biggest Increase Since 2011 in August

The Producer Price Index, which measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output, rose 1.2% last month, the Labor Department reported on Tuesday. The largest increase since a 1.7% advance in March 2011. The increase was driven by a 2.2% jump in the index for final demand goods.
