The Boston Red Sox have scratched starting pitcher Tanner Houck from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the New York Yankees due to a shoulder injury. In a corresponding move, the Red Sox have called up right-handed pitcher Richard Fitts from Triple-A Worcester. Fitts is expected to take Houck’s place in the rotation. The Yankees have countered by activating infielder Gleyber Torres from the injured list and optioning pitcher Clarke Schmidt to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
