Twenty-one Republican senators voted against an amendment that would have required health insurance plans to cover infertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), in the latest version of the Senate health care bill. The amendment, proposed by Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Patty Murray (D-WA), failed to pass with a vote of 45-55.
