Sheriff Howard Sills of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina announced on Thursday that Susan Patterson will be the new chief deputy. Patterson, who currently serves as the major of the Wake County Detention Center, will replace retiring Chief Deputy Donnie Harrison. Sills made the announcement during a press conference at the sheriff’s office.
