Steve Connolly, a 27-year-old man from Syracuse, New York, won the 40th annual Syracuse University Basketball Shooting Contest on Sunday. The event took place at the Carrier Dome and attracted over 1,500 participants. Connolly made 28 out of 30 shots in the final round, beating the second-place finisher by two points. He won a $5,000 cash prize and a season ticket package for Syracuse Orange basketball games.
