Disney reported better-than-expected earnings for its fiscal first quarter, with revenue up 22% from the previous quarter. The theme parks segment saw a significant increase in attendance and revenue, driven by the reopening of parks in Florida and California. The media networks segment also saw growth, with ESPN reporting higher advertising revenue. Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, added 12.6 million subscribers in the quarter, bringing its total to 116.1 million. The company’s CEO, Bob Chapek, expressed optimism about the future, stating that ‘Disney’s magic is not gone forever.’
