Three US citizens and two Spaniards have been detained in Venezuela on suspicion of plotting to destabilize the country, according to reports. The group, which includes a former Green Beret and two Spanish women, were arrested in the coastal state of La Guaira on Saturday. Venezuelan authorities claim the group was planning to carry out sabotage attacks on power stations and other infrastructure. The US embassy in Caracas has confirmed the detention of the three US citizens, but has not provided further details.
