Tom Petty expressed regrets over the song selection on The Heartbreakers’ 1978 album ‘Long After Dark’. Petty felt that some songs did not represent the band’s best work. He believed that ‘The Waiting’ and ‘Refugee’ were the only standout tracks. Petty’s producer, Jimmy Iovine, disagreed and believed that the entire album was strong.
