UFC fighter Conor McGregor announced his retirement from mixed martial arts on social media Tuesday, March 24. McGregor, a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, made the announcement via Twitter, writing, ‘I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as/taught to the gentle art of fighting. I wish all my old colleagues and friends doing this business the best of fortune and success in the future.’, McGregor has not fought since his loss to Dustin Poirier in January 2021.
