The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit record highs on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates for the third time this year. Tech stocks led the gains, with Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet all up more than 1%. Energy stocks were the biggest losers, with Chevron and Exxon Mobil down over 2%. The Fed also announced it would resume its bond buying program, known as quantitative easing.
