Stan Wawrinka, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Frances Tiafoe all advanced to the quarterfinals at the European clay-court swing. Wawrinka defeated Pablo Andujar in three sets at the Stockholm Open. Tsitsipas overcame a tough challenge from Albert Ramos-Vinolas to reach the last eight at the European Open in Antwerp. Tiafoe defeated qualifier Mikael Ymer in straight sets at the Astana Open in Almaty.
