Alex Salmond, the former First Minister of Scotland and Aberdeenshire politician, has passed away. Salmond, who was 65, served as First Minister from 2007 to 2014. He represented the Scottish National Party (SNP) and was a member of the Scottish Parliament from 1999 to 2016. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
