Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) introduced a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government through December 3, but it includes a provision to allow non-citizens to vote in Texas elections. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) opposed the measure. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) also voiced their opposition. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) announced that a vote on the CR would occur on February 10.
