New York City lawmakers are expected to approve a bill establishing a commission to study the impact of slavery and discrimination on the city’s Black community and recommend reparations. The bill, introduced by Council Member I. Daneek Miller, passed the Council’s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus on Tuesday.
